Personal Profile | John Catsicas (Corporate Finance Consultant)
John Catsicas has been a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants since 1993 and brings considerable expertise in board reporting for major organisations such as Southern Suns, as well as various medium-sized enterprises.
He graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 1983 and has accumulated over 40 years of experience in managerial accounting, contracts management, corporate finance, application and reporting on IFRS standards, corporate governance in both King IV and SOX, and the whole regime of enterprise risk management, with a particular focus on credit risk. John has delivered lectures extensively across South Africa and other African countries on corporate governance, financial modelling, IFRS, risk, and financial strategy.

He serves as a consultant to banks on all dimensions of expected credit risk and has developed multiple programmes on the application of IFRS 9 ECL within banking operations. John is currently completing a book entitled “Transforming Credit Assessment under the IFRS 9 ECL Regime,” which will be published on Amazon. His areas of strength include tax planning, the impact of IFRS on contractual parties, and the assessment of default risk in commercial and corporate loan agreements.
